Hello all,
It's a travel day for the Green crew! Anyone who has kids that are in their teen years and older, as we do, knows how hard it is to get everyone's schedules to come together at the same time. But this time we got it done, no problem. It shows how special this occasion is to our family.
I feel extremely blessed to have had a career that has impacted our children's lives so much. Most of my buddies' careers were over by the time their kids were entering first or second grade; our kids were almost as old as us by the time I retired -- LOL. Like many of you, they pretty much got to experience it all. I am truly enjoying sharing our excitement about this incredible honor. Win, lose or draw, this is an amazing time for us. We're going to have a ball and we want you to experience it with us!
Sorry, I have to get ready to go! By the time many of you guys sit down for dinner, we'll be soaking in the sun and enjoying the sights and sounds of Super Bowl festivities. More importantly, we'll be one geographical, psychological, and emotional step closer to hearing the big announcement. And that's a good thing! What a nail-biter!
I'll have more for you tomorrow from Arizona. But before I wrap up these thoughts, let me give a quick shout-out to washingtonpost.com for providing another platform for my blog. washingtonpost.com is da bomb! Also, I want to thank you for joining me; and please know that each day I read all of your comments.
Because of your overwhelming response and my desire to answer all of your questions, I'm thinking of hosting a live chat on DarrellGreen.com or washingtonpost.com or maybe both. What do you think about that? If you're interested, after the dust clears, we'll set it up.
Don't forget, good or bad, I want to hear your thoughts.
Dear Mr. Green - I am a loyal Redskin fan who grew up in Hillcrest Heights MD, right outside DC. And have been a fan since I could remember as a kid watching Sonny and Charley Taylor play in the sixties. I have been in awe of you as a football player, a leader of a team and a man who realizes there is a lot more to life than playing a game. I truly admire the work you do for youth and your community.
I had the joy of being at your last game at Fed X field and bringing my boy to that game so we could share the experience.
I want to wish you the best on the upcoming announcement for the Hall of Fame. I certainly an hoping that you are elected in this year and that Art Monk is voted in as well - it has astounded me that he has not been elected in yet.
Thank you and God Bless You
