Remarkable Win! Skins Win! Skins Win!

Hey, great win for the Skins! I certainly don't claim to be a sociologist nor psychologist but I believe the benefits of this win reach way beyond staying in the hunt for a playoffs spot. I say it was incredibly valuable because it provides a critically needed stimulus that most people would think isn't needed by professional athletes. That's right. I said sociological. Believe it or not, these men have the same basic needs for sincere human to human stimuli that everyone else has. As much as we appreciate the adoration of our faithful fans, I can tell you that the eighty thousand screaming fans on twenty plus game days and nights, plus the thousands of "hello's" in the mall over a player's career, probably doesn't even add up to one good sincere hug and an "I love you" from those that really count the most in their lives.

A triumph like last night helps to give a positive end to the most difficult week and a half any NFL player has ever had to endure. And for these guys, I can't imagine the incredible deficit between what's been given by the players vs. what's been received in the form of the remarkable flood of public support over the last week and a half. I'm sure that last night's win meant far more to them personally than it did professionally.

Now! I'm sure that after reading just a few of my writings you're saying to yourself, "Wow, this guy is full of analogies." So, to not disappoint you, I'll sum it up with this: What our beloved Redskins team has done throughout this painful process is the equivalent of someone doing a solo, reading a scripture, giving a tribute, giving the eulogy and serving as the pall bearer at their brother's funeral. As our guys were trying to mourn, they talked about it to the public in interviews, performed their jobs last Sunday, traveled three thousand miles to the funeral and back, went back to work and practiced, then performed again last night. Remarkable win, remarkable win!
