My Maxims
What is a maxim? Merriam-Webster.com defines a maxim as, "A general truth, fundamental principle, or rule of conduct; a proverbial saying."
As a public figure in professional football and active community service for over 25 years, one of the ways that I was able to maintain a proper perspective on life was through what I called, "My Sayings for Success." Basically, it was a collection of words of wisdom that I used to guide my thoughts and actions. One day, I was sharing some of these words with a friend who said, "Darrell, do you know what a maxim is?" When I responded that I didn't, the friend explained that my sayings were called maxims and encouraged me to share them with everyone for they were the secrets of my success.
Over the years, my life has been influenced by many experiences and relationships which have helped to define "My Maxims." Each one of these represents a story or experience that has helped make me who I am today. It's my hope and desire that you will be touched or inspired by one or more of these guiding principles.
Each maxim is available framed or unframed, signed and unsigned. Signed maxims include a personal inscription if desired. The following four maxims are available now.
