| Known for: | Always smiling; trying to tell jokes but not quite getting the punch line straight. |
| When I’m not playing football, you’ll most likely see me: | Talking with family and friends or trying to find a quiet place; fishing, sitting by the lake. |
| If I didn’t play football I would be: | The mayor of a large city |
| My first award: | I received my first MVP award playing with a neighborhood football team in Houston where I grew up. My teammates didn’t know my real name and always called me "Little Lester" after my older brother. The trophy I won was engraved "L. Lester". (I guess Lester’s friends call him "Big Darrell" now.) |
| My first job: | Driving trucks for Joskey and Waddell’s furniture stores in Houston |
| Three things I’ve never done: | Smoked cigarettes or used drugs or alcohol, Lied about an injury, or cursed an opponent, referee or coach |
